Olympic champion Xu Jiayu’s appearance sparked enthusiasm among the audience. As an athlete, he expressed his interest in exploring various sports beyond swimming: “Besides swimming, I enjoy trying different new sports. I recently started practicing Tai Chi.” He believes that mass sports participation forms the foundation of athletic development, adding, “Only when public sports participation strengthens can our province’s sports industry truly flourish.”

The showcase featured spectacular performances by Zhejiang provincial sports associations, drawing continuous applause and cheers. The Zhejiang Provincial Street Dance Association, led by world champion Fu Tianzong, interpreted the sporting spirit through passionate and powerful dance moves. The Zhejiang Provincial Gymnastics Trampoline Association and the Model Radio Sports Association collaborated on “Technical Butterfly Shadow,” showcasing an innovative blend of modern technology and gymnastics skills. Xu Jiayu partnered with Beijing Olympics rhythmic gymnastics silver medalist Cai Tongtong and Hangzhou Dianzi University singers to perform the sports anthem “Running.”

The performance also served as a vivid interpretation and practical demonstration of the “Sports in Campus” initiative. During the “Campus Fair” segment dedicated to promoting student clubs, 15 sports clubs carefully designed interactive booths featuring various activities: traditional martial arts stances that embodied Chinese cultural heritage, baseball and softball throwing challenges that tested strength and skill, and entertaining pickleball target games. These activities allowed students and faculty to experience the unique charm of different sports through hands-on participation.
