Female judoka Li Aiyue was born in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province in 1970. She entered Wenzhou Youth Sports School in 1984 and was selected to the national judo team in 1988.

She won the women’s 48kg titles at the 1988 National Judo Championship, the 1989 National Men’s and Women’s Judo Championship and the 1990 National Judo Championship.

In 1990, she won the silver medal in women’s 48kg judo at the Beijing Asian Games.
