From September 22 to October 7, 1990, the 11th Asian Games was held in Beijing, China. The Chinese sports delegation won 183 gold, 107 silver and 51 bronze medals, ranking the first in terms of the gold and total medal counts.

A total of 17 athletes from Zhejiang Province participated in the Games and bagged 11 gold medals, four silver medals, one bronze medal, one fourth place, one fifth place, and two sixth places, breaking three Asian Games records in total.
