From September 17 to October 2, 1988, the 24th Olympic Games were held in Seoul, South Korea. There were 23 sports and 237 events. China sent a delegation of 443 members, including 301 athletes, to compete in 20 sports and perform in 2 events. They won a total of 5 gold medals, 11 silver medals, and 12 bronze medals, ranking 11th in the medal tally.

A total of 8 athletes from Zhejiang Province were selected to the Chinese delegation, and they won 1 gold medal and 2 bronze medals, and secured the fourth place, the fifth place, and the eighth place in one event respectively, and the sixth place in two events.
