Wang Shun was born in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province in 1994.

In 2011, he won four gold medals at the 7th National City Games, and won the championship in men’s 400m individual medley with a time breaking both the Asian and the national records at the 2011 National Swimming Championships.

In 2013, he won the championship in men’s 200m individual medley at the National Swimming Championships and broke the national record. He also won the gold medal in men’s 200m individual medley at the National Games 2013.
