Xu Dongxiang (first from the left) was born in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province on January 15, 1983.

She won the championship in women's lightweight single sculls at the National Rowing Championships in 2006 and clinched the second place in women's lightweight double sculls at the second stage of the Rowing World Cup in 2007. She secured the fifth place in women’s lightweight double sculls at the 2004 Athens and the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
