From July 25 to August 9, 1992, the 25th Olympic Games were held in Barcelona, Spain with 25 sports and 257 events. The Chinese delegation consisted of 381 members, including 251 athletes who participated in 20 sports. They won 16 gold medals, 22 silver medals, and 16 bronze medals, ranking fourth in terms of gold and total medals in the medal tally.

A total of 10 athletes from Zhejiang Province were selected to the Chinese delegation and they won 1 gold medal and 1 silver medal, and secured the fourth place in three events and the seventh place in two events.
