Male volleyball player Wu Wei was born in Pinghu City, Zhejiang Province in 1967. He was selected to Zhejiang provincial men’s volleyball team from Zhejiang Provincial Sports School in 1983, and the national men’s volleyball team in 1989.

He won the third place in men’s volleyball at the 1989 Asian Volleyball Championships.

In 1990, he won the championship in men’s volleyball at the Beijing Asian Games.
