Lv Lin was born in Taizhou, Zhejiang Province in 1969.

He has won gold medals for many times in table tennis doubles and singles at the Table Tennis Championships, the National Games, the Olympic Games, and other competitions. In 1991, he was awarded the title of “Master of Sports of the International Class”. He won the gold medal in men's table tennis doubles at the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games and was titled as one of the “Top 10 Chinese Athletes of the Year” in 1992 and 1995. He has been awarded the National Titles of Honor in Sports for four times.
