Yang Yu (first from the right) was born in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province in 1985.

She has won championships at the Short Course World Championships, the World Championships, the Asian Games and other competitions. In 2000, she was awarded the title of “Master of Sports of the International Class”.

Achievement at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games:

Silver medal in women's 4× 200m freestyle relay.
