Jiang Yuyuan was born in Liuzhou, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in 1991.

In 1999, she studied at Wenzhou Sports School and then became a member of Gymnastics Team of Zhejiang Province.

In 2007, she won the championships of uneven bars and floor exercise at the 2007 Shanghai World Cup, and she was a major member of the Chinese women's gymnastics team that finished as runners-up at the 2007 Stuttgart World Gymnastics Championships.

Achievement at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games:

Gold medal in gymnastics women's team.
