Yang Yu (second on the right) was born in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province in 1985.

She won championships at the World Short Course Swimming Championships, the World Championships, the Asian Games and other competitions. In 2000, she was conferred the title of “Master of Sports of the International Class”.

Achievement at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games:

Silver medal in women’s 4×200m freestyle relay.
