The 2004 Athens Olympic Games was the biggest reunion of the Olympic family. At the 28th Summer Olympic Games, 10,500 athletes from 202 countries and regions participated in 301 small events in 28 big events. Following the Olympic spirit of “faster, higher, and stronger”, they challenged the limits and climbed to new heights, setting more than 20 new world records in athletics, swimming, cycling, weightlifting, and archery.

A total of 21 athletes and 6 coaches from Zhejiang Province were selected to the Chinese delegation and they won four gold medals, one silver medal, one bronze medals and ranked the 4th twice, the 5th twice, the 6th twice, the 1st once, the 8th once. Among them, two athletes broke one world record, 2 Olympic records and 1 national record.
