Male runner Zheng Chen was born in Jinhua, Zhejiang in 1965. He was selected to Zhejiang provincial athletics team in 1979 and entered the national athletics team in 1984.

He won the championships in men’s 100m and 4×100m relay at the Sixth Asian Athletics Championships in 1985.

He won the gold medal in athletics men’s 4×100m relay and the third place in men’s 100m at the 1986 Seoul Asian Games.
