Male badminton player Jiang Guoliang was born in Hangzhou, Zhejiang in 1965. He joined Zhejiang provincial badminton team in 1974.

In 1983, he won the third place in mixed doubles at the BWF World Championships and the title in men’s doubles at the Badminton Asian Championships. In 1984, he was part of the team that secured the silver medal at the Thomas Cup.

He earned the third place in badminton mixed doubles at the 1986 Seoul Asian Games.
