Male badminton player Ding Qiqing was born in Hangzhou, Zhejiang on May 28, 1962. He was selected to Zhejiang provincial badminton team in 1973 and entered the national badminton team in 1981.

He won the championship in men’s team at the 14th Thomas Cup in 1986.

He secured the runner-up in badminton men’s team and the third place in men’s doubles at the 1986 Seoul Asian Games.
