Female rower Cao Mianying was born in Haiyan, Zhejiang Provincein 1967. In 1984, she entered Zhejiang provincial rowing team.

She won the championship in women’s single sculls at the 1987 Asian Rowing Championships.

In 1990, she wonthe gold medal in women’s single sculls at the Beijing Asian Games.
