Ye Lianying, a female track and field athlete from Shangyu, Zhejiang, was born in 1960. She entered Zhejiang Provincial Sports School in 1974 and was selected to Zhejiang provincial track and field team in 1977.

She won the women’s heptathlon championships at the Asian Athletics Championships in 1981 and at the National Athletics Championships in 1982.

At the 1982 Asian Games in New Delhi, she secured the silver medal in the women’s heptathlon.
