Male track and field athlete Zheng Chen was born in Jinhua, Zhejiang Province in 1965. He was selected to Zhejiang provincial athletics team in 1979 and the national team in 1984.

In 1985, he won the gold medals in men’s 100m and 4×100m relay at the Sixth Asian Athletics Championships. In 1986, he won the championship in men’s 4×100m relay and the third place in men’s 100m at the Seoul Asian Games.

In 1990, he won the gold medal in men’s 4×100m relay and the silver medal in men’s 100m at the Beijing Asian Games.
