Female gymnast Sun Xiaojiao was born in May 1986 in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province. She was selected to Zhejiang provincial gymnastics team in December 1995 and the national gymnastics team in 1996.

In 2001, she won the championships in balance beam at the Gymnastics World Cup in France, the Brisbane Goodwill Games in Australia, and the Ninth National Games. In 2002, she won the championship in balance beam at the Gymnastics World Cup Finals.

In 2002, she won the championship in gymnastics women’s team at the 14th Asian Games held in Busan.
