Female judo player Shao Dan was born in 1982 in Jinhua, Zhejiang Province. She entered Jinhua Sports School in 1995, Zhejiang provincial judo team in 1998, and the national judo team in 2000.

She won the championships in Group A women’s 48kg judo at the 11th Games of Zhejiang Province in 1998, and in women’s 48kg judo at the National Judo Championship in 2002.

In 2002, she won the third place in women’s 48kg judo at the 14th Asian Games held in Busan.
