Liu Yaxin was born in Longquan, Zhejiang Province in June 1999.

In 2014, she won the gold medal in women’s 200m backstroke at the National Swimming Championships. In 2016, she won the silver medal in women’s 200m backstroke at the Asian Swimming Championships. In 2017, she won the gold medal in women’s 200m backstroke at the 13th National Games.
