Xu Zangjun was born in Fuyang, Zhejiang Province in February 1992.

In 2009, he won the bronze medal in sailing men’s 470 track race at the Shandong National Games. In 2012, he won the silver medal in men’s 470 track race at the National Sailing Championships. In 2014, he won the bronze medal in men’s 470 track race at the National Windsurfing Championships. In 2016, he won the gold medal in men’s 470 track race at the National Sailing Championships. In 2017, he won the gold medal in Olympic sailing men’s 470 at the 13th National Games.
