Male track and field athlete Li Rongxiang was born in February 1972 in Changxing, Zhejiang Province. He entered Huzhou Youth Sports School in 1985 and Zhejiang provincial track and field team in 1989.

He won the championship in men’s javelin throw at the Second National Youth Games in 1989 and broke the Asian youth record in 1991.

He won the third place in men’s javelin throw at the 1998 Bangkok Asian Games.
