Female swimmer Tang Jingzhi was born in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province on September 15, 1986. She was admitted to Zhejiang provincial swimming team in 1998 and the national swimming team in 2002.

In 2001, she won the championship in women’s 400m freestyle at the 2001 Goodwill Games.

In 2002, she won the championship in women’s 4×200m freestyle relay at the Sixth FINA Short Course World Championships, and the first place in women’s 4×200m freestyle relay and the third place in women’s 400m freestyle at the Busan Asian Games.

In 2003, she clinched the first place in women’s 800m freestyle at the FINA Swimming World Cup, and the gold medal in women’s 400m freestyle at the National Swimming Championships.

In 2005, she bagged the first place in women’s 400m freestyle at the National Swimming Championships & Preliminaries of the 10th National Games.

In 2006, she won the runner-up in women’s 4×200m freestyle relay at the Eighth FINA Short Course World Championships, and the championship in women’s 200m freestyle at the Seventh Asian Swimming Championships.

She bagged the gold medals in women’s 4×100m and 4×200m freestyle relay at the 2006 Doha Asian Games.
