Female shooting athlete Wang Chengyi was, born in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province on July 17, 1983. She entered Ningbo Sports School in 1995, Zhejiang provincial shooting team in 1999 and the national shooting team in 2001.

She won the third place in 3×20 shooting at the Ninth National Games in 2001, the championship in women’s air rifle at the National Shooting Championships in 2002, in women’s 50m smallbore sporting rifle 3×20 at the Fifth National Intercity Games in Changsha, and in women’s air rifle at the National Shooting Championship in 2003. In 2004, she clinched gold in women’s 50m rifle 3×20 team event at the Asian Shooting Championships and bronze in women’s rifle 3×20 at the Athens Olympic Games.

In 2006, she won the gold medals in women’s 50m rifle 3×20 and team events, the silver medal in women’s prone team event and the bronze medal in women’s smallbore optional rifle 40-shot prone at the Doha Asian Games.
