Male swimmer Wang Haibo was born in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province on February 7, 1982. He was admitted to Zhejiang Provincial Sports School in 1993, the provincial swimming team in 1996, and the national team in 2001.

In 2003, he captured the title in men’s 100m breaststroke and was the runner-up in men’s 50m breaststroke at the National Swimming Championships. In 2004, he held the title in men’s 100m breaststroke at the National Swimming Championships (the Olympic trials). He won the gold medal in men’s 50m breaststroke at the National Swimming Championships (preliminaries of the 10th National Games) in 2005.

At the Doha Asian Games in 2006, he won the third place in men’s 50m breaststroke.
