Female Sepak Takraw player Wang Yan was born in Taizhou, Zhejiang Province on November 1, 1987. In 2001, she started her training at Zhejiang Taozhu Middle School.

In 2006, she won the third place in women’s team at the King’s Cup Sepaktakraw World Championship.

At the Doha Asian Games in 2006, she won the third place in Sepak Takraw women’s team competition.
