Male Sanda athlete Xu Yanfei was born in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province on March 15, 1981. He entered Hangzhou Chenjinglun Sports School in 1996, Zhejiang provincial Sanda team in 1999, and the national Sanda team in 2003.

He was the runner-up in men’s 70kg at the National Wushu Sanda Championships in 2002 and 2003. In 2005, he won the first place in Sanda men’s 70kg at the 10th National Games and the championship in men’s 70kg at the World Wushu Championships. In 2006, he won the championships in men’s 70kg at the National Wushu Sanda Championships and the Sanda World Cup.

He won the championship in Sanda men’s 70kg at the Doha Asian Games in 2006.
