Female track and field Zhao Yingying was born in Haining, Zhejiang Province on February 15, 1986. She entered Haining Sports School in 1996, the provincial athletics team in September 1999 and the national training team in 2004.

In 2003, she won the title in women’s pole vault at the National Track and Field Championships, and the championship in women’s pole vault at the Fifth National Intercity Games. She clinched the championships in women’s pole vault at the National Track and Field Grand Prix in Nanjing the next year, and the National Women’s Track and Field Championships (preliminaries of the 10th National Games) in 2005.

In 2006, she won the third place in the women’s pole vault at the Doha Asian Games.
