Female kayak player Zhu Minyuan was born in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province on December 5, 1985. She entered Wenzhou Sports School in 1999, Wuhan Sports University in 2001, and the national canoe&kayak team in 2003.

In 2005, she won the third place in women’s 500m kayak four at the World Rowing Cup, the first place in women’s 500m kayak four and and double at the National Games, and the championships in women’s 500m and 200m kayak four at the Asian Championships. In 2006, she was the runner-up in women’s 1000m kayak double at the World Rowing Championships and the World Rowing Cup in Poland.

She won the championship in women’s 500m kayak double at the Doha Asian Games in 2006.
