The 15th Asian Games was held in Doha, Qatar from December 1 to 15, 2006. The Chinese delegation won 165 gold, 88 silver and 63 bronze medals. It was the seventh time that China had ranked the first in terms of gold medal count at the Asian Games.

A total of 31 athletes and 8 coaches from Zhejiang Province participated in 14 sports of the Games and clinched 15 gold, 9 silver and 12 bronze medals, and 3 fourth places, bringing glory to the motherland and Zhejiang Province.
