Female shooter Wang Chengyi was born on July 17, 1983 in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province. She joined Ningbo College of Sports in 1995, Zhejiang provincial shooting team in 1999, and the national shooting team in 2001.
She won the third place in women’s 50m rifle 3×20 at the Ninth National Games in 2001, the championship in women’s air rifle at the National Shooting Championship in 2002, the championship in women’s 50m smallbore rifle 3×20 at the Fifth National Intercity Games in Changsha, and the championship in women’s air rifle at the 2003 National Shooting Championship. She also won the championship in women’s 50m rifle 3×20 team at the 2004 Asian Shooting Championship, the bronze medal in women’s 50m rifle 3×20 at the Athens Olympic Games and the gold medal in women’s 50m rifle 3×20 team at the 2006 Doha Asian Games.
In 2010, she won gold medals in women’s 50m rifle prone individual, women’s 50m rifle 3 positions individual and team, and the bronze medal in women’s 50m rifle prone team at the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games.
